Mo-vember

Hi,

I have decided to join a global movement that is bringing much needed attention to prostate cancer. I’m doing this by growing a Moustache this Movember, the month formerly known as November. My commitment is to grow a moustache all November and I am hoping that you will support my efforts by making a donation. The funds raised go directly to Prostate Cancer Canada.

What many people don’t know is that 1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer to afflict Canadian men with 25,500 diagnosed and 4,400 dying from the disease each year.

Facts like these have convinced me I should get involved.

To make a donation, you can either:

• Click this link and donate online using your credit card or PayPal account , or
• Write a cheque payable to ‘Prostate Cancer Canada’, referencing my Registration Number 291186 and mailing it to:

Prostate Cancer Canada, 145 Front Street East, Ste. 306, Toronto, ON M5A 1E3, Canada.

All donations are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Prostate Cancer Canada will use the money raised by Movember for the development of programs related to awareness, public education, advocacy, support of those affected, and research into the prevention, detection, treatment and cure of prostate cancer.

For more details on how the funds raised from previous campaigns have been used and the impact Movember is having please go to http://ca.movemberfoundation.com/research-and-programs/.

Thank you

I've raised $60 so far on my first day...i'm really excited about this

Happy Anniversary

(Okay I'm a couple of days late with the anniversary update but the picture of the tree was taken on our anniversary)

2 years! Man how time flies. This is a picture of one of the trees that we gave out as souveniers to the people who atteneded out wedding. We planted 5 of them in our backyard and this is one of them. Lots of stuff going on in the Sadler residence...Jane has just finished up school. She will be teaching at OSCVI next year in the second semester instead of Grey Highlands so that will save her hours of driving...I'm finishing up a "microprogramme" at the University of Sherbrooke on Electronic Health Standards...I really thought taking an online course would be a great idea but there was a lot more nights and weekends than i expected. Hope to hear from you all soon...come visit!

Just got back from Connecticut

Me, Jane, Dale and Dianne piled into the car on Friday night and drove down to Connecticut to celebrate Jim and Alice's 50th wedding anniversary. It was a great weekend. The weather was great, the food was great, everybody had a great time. Their house was absolutely gorgeous...i don't know if any of the pictures do it justice, if i can find one i'll put it up. What else is new with us...I started a post graduate course in Sherbrooke in Electronic Medical Standards, so technically I'm a med student...Jane is coaching the soccer team at her school...we're happy and healthy and coming down off a great weekend...hope everyone is doing great!

The whole group...people came from Ontario, California, Virginia, all over the place...

We'll make Jane a hugger eventually!

Long time, no blog!

Hello everyone! Thought I'd make a little update...another summer has come to an end. We did a little bit of travelling during the summer and early fall...went to Ottawa, went up to Kincardine, went to Toronto (to see Clayton and Jen and Blue Rodeo), went to London, went to Waterloo, went to Eganville for my Uncle Dave's wedding. Here's a few pictures...we're off to Connecticut this weekend, celebrated Thanksgiving with the Sadler clan last weekend. Turkey turned out great, no salmonella :)

Abner spent a lot of time sleeping in boxes

San Francisco pics (2) - Pirate Store

In the preceding emails to visiting San Francisco, Cary mentioned that she lived around the corner from a Pirate store. No one else seemed to care, but I was terribly intrigued. On the last day we visited... Valencia 826

and of course I had to pick up some booty...

It turns out that the pirate shop was a front for a non-profit writing co-op for kids...check out the writeup on what they do it's pretty cool

More pics to come!

Pictures from San Fran

We went down to San Francisco with Jane's parents, Aunt Jane (or AJ for short) and Dean and Marian. We had a great time (as the pictures will show) going to Alcatraz, visiting with Jane's cousins, going to the Golden State Warriors game, wine tours, seeing giant trees and viewing a whole lot of beautiful scenery. It was between 70 and 80 degrees everyday. I would move there in a second...if finances allow it has my vote for a March Break trip every year!
